Practice Areas

Request for Reconsideration

If your initial application for Social Security disability is denied you have a right to file an appeal called a "Request for Reconsideration." This generally must be filed within 60 days of the denial of your claim.

Request for Hearing

If the Request for Reconsideration appeal is denied you can file another appeal called a "Request for Hearing". An Administrative Law Judge is assigned to your case and a live court Hearing is scheduled.

Post Hearing Appeals

If a Judge denies your claim after a Hearing you can appeal to the SSA's Appeals Council. This appellate court will review your case and make a determination. If they affirm the previous denial you may still appeal to federal court.
